Filtration is the lifeblood of your pool. It ensures 80% of water quality, well before treatment products. Efficient filtration guarantees crystal-clear water, while reducing chlorine consumption and electricity bills.
The winning duo: Pentair pump and Calplas filter
At Astro Piscines, we’ve made radical choices when it comes to filtration: Pentair for pumps, Calplas for filters. Why do we do this? Because we want to offer our customers only the best.
Our variable-speed filtration pumps, like theUltraflow VS2M and the legendary Sta-Rite 5P2R, consume up to 70% less electricity than traditional pumps. Quiet(75% less noise) and programmable, they automatically adapt to your pool’s needs. An investment that pays for itself in just 3-4 seasons.
Calplas filters: our exclusive choice
We have chosen to offer only Calplas filters (FA series), made in Spain to industrial standards. Unlike blow-molded plastic filters for the general public, Calplas tanks are made of laminated polyester, layer by layer, by hand. It’s the difference between a plastic body and the hull of a racing boat.

The secret of crystal-clear water: filter media
We systematically recommend AFM active glass (Dryden Aqua) rather than traditional sand. This new-generation filter media retains particles down to 1 micron (compared with 40 microns for sand), prevents bacterial growth and reduces the frequency of backwashing. Its lifespan is doubled: 10 to 15 years versus 5 to 7 years for sand.
The Calplas filter + AFM glass combination represents the very best in filtration. It’s our standard for all new installations and renovations.
Heating: Extend your bathing season
In Switzerland, an unheated pool limits swimming to July and August. That’s a shame for such an investment. With an efficient heat pump, you can enjoy your pool from April to October– three times as long.
Full Inverter heat pumps: silence and savings
We install the Polytropic range, the French benchmark in pool heating:

Full Inverter technology allows the pump to modulate its power rather than operating on an on/off basis. The result: half the power consumption and virtually inaudible operation.

To maximize thermal gains without spending a cent on electricity, we offer Aquatop solar shutters (Technics & Applications) and APF Pool Design bubble covers. These covers capture the sun’s energy and can naturally increase your water’s temperature by 3 to 5°C.

Filtration is the most important piece of equipment: without it, water turns green in a matter of days. It consists of a pump (which circulates the water) and a filter (which retains impurities).
