Frequently Asked Questions about Pool Filters
Which filter to choose for a 50 m³ pool?
For a 50 m³ pool, we recommend the Calplas FA-15 (0.30 m² filter surface) or the FA-20 (0.40 m²) if you have flow-intensive equipment such as a counter-current swim.
When should you change the sand or glass in your filter?
Sand wears out and becomes rounder over time, losing its filtering power. Allow 5 to 7 years for sand, 10 to 15 years for AFM glass. Signs of wear: cloudy water despite correct treatment, increasingly frequent backwashing. Ask us for a quote.
Why choose a Calplas filter over another brand?
Calplas filters are made from hand-laminated polyester, offering decades of durability. Unlike blown plastic filters, which can warp under pressure or UV light, Calplas tanks remain stable. It’s a very long-term investment.
Sand or filter glass: which to choose?
AFM glass is superior to sand in every respect: filtration fineness (1 micron vs. 40), anti-bacterial properties, doubled service life. The initial cost is higher, but the investment pays for itself in water and product savings. You can find AFM bags in our aquastore.ch online store or at our Nyon store: Route de Champ-Colin 2C.
Is it possible to replace an old filter with a Calplas on an existing system?
Absolutely. We regularly replace tired filters with Calplas. Standard fittings (2″) allow easy adaptation. We check compatibility with your pump during our free diagnosis.
What is the warranty on Calplas filters?
Calplas filters come with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty. Designed to last over 30 years, they represent a very long-term investment.
Where can I buy a Calplas filter in Switzerland?
