Leakage or evaporation: how do you know?

In summer, on the Lake Geneva region, evaporation can reduce the water level by 1 to 1.5 cm per day. Before calling in a professional, perform the bucket test:

  1. Place a bucket of water on a step (level with the basin)
  2. Mark levels with a felt-tip pen (inside and out)
  3. Wait 24h
  4. If the basin has dropped more than the bucket → you have a leak

FAQ – Pool leak detection

How much does it cost to find a swimming pool leak in Switzerland?

Prices vary according to the complexity of the basin and the methods used (diving, tracer gas, pressurization). You should generally expect to pay a fixed diagnosis fee. Does home insurance cover pool leaks?

It depends on your contract. Often, “leak detection” is covered, but not the repair of the cause (the pipe or liner). We provide you with a detailed report for your insurance file.

Can a liner leak be repaired without draining the pool?

Yes, it’s possible for small snags, thanks to special glues that work underwater. However, if the liner is old and porous, the repair will not hold and replacement will be necessary.
